Bio

A Lexington, Mass., native who starred at Boston College, Shaw set many standards in early Futures League history both as a member of the back-to-back championship-winning Nashua Silver Knights in 2012 and in his career that followed. The first baseman/outfielder was among the first rising college freshmen to play in the Futures League, but his young age had no impact on his performance on the field as he earned Top Pro Prospect honors after leading the league with 42 RBI (still tied for the most in Silver Knights single-season history) while hitting .274 with eight home runs and 21 total extra-base hits. Shaw became a two-time All-ACC performer on the Heights and was selected by the San Francisco Giants with the 31st overall pick in 2015, making him the first first-round draftee in Futures League history. He was the second league alum to make his MLB debut, reaching the Giants on August 31, 2018 and playing in 38 games over the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
